7 tons of grapes harvested in 2021
After having suffered from huge hail damage last year, in 2021 we could finally harvest a good amount of grapes, which was in a very satisfying condition.
With the help of around 20 people from the nearby village of Sanavardo and 10 guests and friends from Tbilisi, we managed to harvest around 7 tons of Saperavi grapes within two days. As our wine cellar is not ready yet, we brought around two tons to our friend’s wine cellar in the Gori region and around four tons to Fabio’s house in nearby Eniseli. The idea is to make four different types of wine:
Saperavi red dry from Kvevri (with full skin contact)
Saperavi red dry from Kvevri (without skin contact)
Saperavi red dry European method (stainless steel with short skin contact)
Saperavi red dry European method (stainless steel without skin contact)
As always, the grape harvest was not just a lot of work, but also a lot of fun, wonderful moments in nature together with friends, neighbors, and guests. Thanks a lot to everyone who was part of it.
