Inavarde Wines is a small, family-owned winery from Georgia. In our cellar in eastern Georgia’s Kakheti region, we produce natural wines from the grape varieties Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, Kisi, and Khikhvi, which we cultivate in our nearby organic vineyard. A large part of our organic wines is produced using the kvevri method, which is recognized as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
We see wine as a gift from nature—a product influenced by soil, vegetation, sun, rainfall, and wind. These factors interact in new ways every year, creating unique conditions that are reflected in our wines. We let nature take its course and only intervene when absolutely necessary.
Organic Vineyard
In our vineyard, we interfere as little as possible with natural processes to preserve the authenticity of the terroir. Apart from a few targeted and biologically certified plant protection measures, we let nature run free and thus promote the natural balance in the vineyard.
We do not irrigate our vines but rely on natural rainfall, encouraging the roots to grow deep into the soil to draw minerals and nutrients from the earth. The soil structure remains largely untouched: we avoid using machines that could compact the soil and refrain from any interventions that might disrupt the natural balance.
No Additives in the Cellar
Our philosophy of purity also applies in the cellar. Hygiene is our most important principle in winemaking. When healthy grapes are processed in an absolutely clean environment, we believe the wine does not need any artificial additives.
