Dry, amber-colored Georgian wine made from the grapes of the endemic Rkatsiteli variety, which are cultivated in our own organic vineyard in the Georgian wine region of Kakheti.
Vintage
The year 2024 was climatically perfect: we had enough sun, sufficient rain, and no issues with fungal infestations or other diseases. It was by far the best year since we began our wine production.
Organic Vineyard
We manage our vineyard ourselves to ensure that we only process grapes of the highest quality. Our vineyard is fully organic, without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or other chemical substances.
Natural Wine
We rely on spontaneous fermentation through the naturally occurring yeast cultures on the grapes. We give the wine the time it needs to develop. Filtration occurs naturally by pumping the wine into another vessel every two to three months and removing the remaining sediment. No clarification, no fining, no added sulfites or other substances.
Production Method
For the 2024 Rkatsiteli, we hand-sorted the grapes and pressed them, then placed the entire mash – juice, pulp, skins, and seeds – into a kvevri. Kvevris are egg-shaped clay amphorae buried in the ground. After a month of 100% skin contact, we separated the wine from the mash and placed it back into a kvevri, where it aged for another six months underground. After another twelve months in a stainless steel tank, we will bottle the wine.
Serving Tips
This dry, amber-colored wine develops spring-like, floral notes and aromas of pears and other fruits. It pairs excellently with grilled fish, poultry dishes, baked vegetables, or simply fresh bread and cheese. Serving temperature: 15 – 17°C. Alcohol: 14.0% vol.
